 JOSY SEMKIZ

Josy is of Angolan origin and has been exposed to the country music and rhythm since her very early age.
Josy relocated in London to further her studies. It is where she met Eddy vents, and through Eddy, Josy has learned the art of teaching. Her passion for dancing and search of a deeper understanding of this art, pushed her to train with the world’s finest teacher, and developed a deep knowledge of fundamental technique, artistry and moment of the art.
Until the earlies 2024, Josy stood as a solo teacher in a various African rhythms, and collaborated with Dancers such as Fabrício do Zangado, Frans & Sarah, Arnold Mbunda and Bonifácio Aurio worldwide in order to share her passion and knowledge within the purpose of empowering women.
Classes with Josy are a mixture of knowledge sharing and fun experience. Josy place a particular accent in basics mastery and detail awareness, her footwork and ginga (body movement) are few of her key tools which makes her stand out in the scene. Josy thrives to make her classes a source of well being as well as self improvement in dance.
Since 2024, Josy took a step back from the International scene to focus in her personal projects and development. While she continues to teach her regular classes in London.
You can find Josy at Bar Salsa temple in London every Wednesdays, and at Chocolate Kizomba on Tuesdays where she has her regular classes.
