Andy Watt (electric and acoustic guitar) and Dan Rogers (bass guitar and double bass) will perform a varied and eclectic afternoon concert including some of Andy’s own instrumental compositions and new arrangements of some old favourites from the world of jazz, blues and folk music. Expect everything from The Beatles to Bill Evans!
Andy Watt is well known for performing and recording with folk music legend Tom McConville and has previously toured with an array of top folk musicians including Chris Newman, Shona Mooney and Alistair Anderson. He is also the main guitar tutor on Newcastle University’s folk music degree course. His latest solo project showcases his interest in the role of the guitar as a lead instrument across a wide spectrum of genres and has grown from many of the arrangements he has shared over the past few years on his popular YouTube channel.
Dan Rogers is a bass guitarist and double bassist. Recent work includes touring and festivals with The Unthanks for their “Sorrows Away” album, European touring with Australian musician Gordi, as well as past work with Sony RCA artist Lulu James, and folk guitarist Chris Newman.
“Astonishing feel and dexterity” – Carolyn Paterson, Tolbooth Arts
“Wicked!” – Greg Koch
