Brierdene Trio (8pm)
Brierdene are a group of young musicians who have grown up playing folk music together, meeting at the Sage Gateshead in youth folk ensembles such as Folkworks Saturdays and Folkestra and then progressing into the EFDSS’s National Youth Folk Ensemble. They are influenced by the musical traditions of the North East whilst bringing their own character and enthusiasm to live performances.
La Sonora Boreal (9pm)
Players and students of the rich universe of Colombian music, La Sonora Boreal’s international orchestral dance band brings the Latin rhythms of cumbia, porro, and vallenato – and other música tropica born between the Caribbean and Pacific coasts – to the fiestas of the North East of England.
Ostar Sound (10pm)
Ostar Sound is a project from the minds of UK folk artists Ross Hull and Nicky Kirk. The band makes electronic infused worldand folk instrumentals informed by the musical heritage of Scotland, Ireland, North Africa and the Middle East. Expect heavy breakdowns, dirty synths, fierce fiddle and guitar, saxophone, and big bass lines to get you dancing. Out of Glasgow and Newcastle.

Tommy Arch (4pm)
Tommy Arch is a folk/soul simger with a whole lot going for him; a decade of experience as a professional musician, touring as drummer in Holy Moly & The Crackers; his songwriting acumen; and the decision to work with Kitty and Lewis from Kitty, Daisy & Lewis — the multi-million streamed blues, soul and rock and roll siblings from London, on his latest recording.
Anna & Jessie (5pm)
Jessie Howard is a local singer-songwriter and multi instrumentalist releasing music under the alias Haar. She records using an 8-track digital recorder, layering up instruments with ethereal harmonies to create drifting song/soundscapes with dreamlike imagery. Anna Hughes is a fiddle player/singer collaborating in various outfits around the North-East and writing music for interdisciplinary projects. They have come together out of appreciation for each other’s music, combining fiddle, harmonium, electric guitar and vocal harmonies to share slow-burning, heartfelt songs with simple lyricism and lofty melodies.
Iris Brickfield (6pm)
Iris Brickfield are a synth-rock band based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Made up of Ilana Hawdon on vocals, guitars and drums, and Elis Knowles-Levitt on synths, keys, and backing vocals, they formed in mid-2020, in the midst of the pandemic, writing and recording songs from two different countries. Their debut EP “Hold On My Lovers” caught attention from across the local music scene.
Memphis Gerald (7pm)
Anywhere there’s an ache is comfortable territory for Memphis Gerald’s deft flatpicking and wry burr. Adrift in genre and sensibility, Memphis weaves traditional Scottish acoustic guitar styles into a love of country, roots and even American pop punk. The listener finds a tender, tongue-in-cheek wisdom in Memphis’s wandering ballads, as his songs pluck at what it means to miss home, the road and yourself.
The Timewasters (8pm)
Born out of a continually evolving set of school bands, Lucy and Phoenix emerged as the only two consistent members and now, six or so years later, they operate as The Timewasters, with a rotating cast of drummers and other personnel. Lucy describes their sound as “indie rock pop”, but during our conversation DIY, punk, lo-fi and grunge all get added.
Lovely Assistant (9pm)
Say hello to Lovely Assistant who are bringing Americana and new-wave to the UK, starting right here in the North East. This Newcastle four-piece bring a new take to an old style, taking the classic Americana influences and giving them a few modern tweaks and touch-ups to produce tracks that are sure-fire timeless hits.
Pink Poison (10pm)
Newcastle garage punk-rockers, Pink Poison, are renched in the blood, sweat and beer of a deep south roadhouse and with lead singer, Tyler Allan, sounding like a bourbon possessed Tom Waits this slide-alicious offering is available via all good streaming platforms.

Newcastle’s most esteemed Indie club resident DJs bring their indie, rock & roll, post-punk, and grunge sounds until late!

Figiro Quartet, a stylish vocal-led jazz ensemble from Scotland featuring Fiona Kalin (Vocals), Gilmour MacLeod (Piano), Robert Kalin (Double Bass) and John Patton (Drums).
Abbie Finn Trio (6:15pm)
The Abbie Finn Trio perform regularly around the North-East and further afield. They have featured at Jazz in the round at The Cockpit in London, Newcastle Jazz Festival, Jazz at the Lescar, Durham Jazz Festival and Middlesbrough Jazz Weekender and more.
Their outstanding second album ‘On Pink Lane’ was released in January, and has contributed to their rising profile in the north east of England and across the UK.
James Birkett & Bradley Johnston (7:45pm)
“Birkett and Johnston conjure the most amazing solos and their rhythm guitar playing is to die for. Such is their level of ability the duo will sometimes play a whole number without so much as a glance, trusting in one another, secure in the knowledge that they’ve been here before and can play anything and it’ll work.” (Bebop Spoken Here)
James and Bradley present a programme of music by some of the most influential players and composers of the last hundred years — taking you on a musical journey which moves from early jazz and blues, through swing and bebop, to cool and contemporary.
Origin (9:15pm)
ORIGIN is a new contemporary quartet of original music based in the UK. This project is comprised of some of the most in-demand musicians within the UK, who have been making major impressions as part of the new generation of UK jazz. Nick Manz – Piano, Frank Tulip – Guitar, Trevor Boxall – Bass and Glenn Charles – Drums. ORIGIN draws on the influences of Chick Corea, Donny Macaslin, Brad Melhdau, James Farm and Brian Blade to create music that develops and pushes the idiom.
