30 April is the anniversary of The Globe being bought by Jazz.Coop in 2014 and becoming the UK’s first community-owned music venue. It’s also International Jazz Day. So we are celebrating.
Vienna born London based saxophonist Guido Spannocchi returns to The Globe in Newcastle to present two sets of brand new compositions in the intimate setting of a trio ensemble with John Pope on bass and Steve Hanley on drums.
Blending exotica with straight ahead bop, calypso with contemporary classic Guido has made himself a name touring internationally and regularly releasing albums on his label, for this show Guido has chosen two of the most exciting musicians of the area which will make this evening a particularly exciting show!
Pre-gig music confirmed – A special event for International Jazz Day, with live jazz from The Globe’s regular jammers at Take It To The Bridge, followed by Guido Spannochi’s trio. Live music form @ 6pm, Guido’s first set 8pm.
AGE RESTRICTIONS Children and young people under 16 years old may attend events accompanied by an adult (age over 18). They are not allowed to enter the premises after 9pm and they must leave the premises by midnight. Under 16s are not allowed to purchase soft drinks, but they may consume soft drinks bought for them by their accompanying adult.
16 and 17 year olds are allowed to attend events unaccompanied by an adult and they may purchase soft drinks. They must leave the premises by midnight.
