30 April is the anniversary of The Globe being bought by Jazz.Coop in 2014 and becoming the UK’s first community-owned music venue. It’s also International Jazz Day. So we are celebrating.
Vienna-born London-based saxophonist Guido Spannocchi returns to The Globe in Newcastle to present two sets of brand new compositions in the intimate setting of a trio ensemble with John Pope on bass and Steve Hanley on drums. Blending exotica with straight ahead bop, calypso with contemporary classic Guido has made himself a name touring internationally and regularly releasing albums on his label, for this show Guido has chosen two of the most exciting musicians of the area which will make this evening a particularly exciting show!
There will be live jazz featuring various local musicians from mid-afternoon.
