One of the UK’s finest solo & session guitar players, Jamie McCredie has toured every corner of the world, either as a soloist or playing live & recording with a multitude of artists including; Roisin Murphy, Emeli Sandé, Will Young, Joss Stone, Jo Harrop, Beverly Knight, Kid Creole, Tokio Myers, Gilbert O’Sullivan, Robbie Williams, K.T. Tunstall, Steps, X-Factor, BGT, to name just a handful – alongside hundreds of film, TV & radio sessions.
After winning BBC Radio guitarist of the year in 2000 aged 19, Jamie’s fiery blues-meets-jazz-meets-classical guitar playing has since defined him as one of the UK’s premier solo instrumentalists & most successful session players; enabling him to thrive on the biggest headline stages in the world, (Glastonbury, Coachella etc) alongside the most intimate and connective.
As a session musician Jamie has played on hundreds of TV ads for the world’s biggest names including Disney, Audi, Sky, the John Lewis Christmas ads, The Superbowl, HSBC, The Olympic Games, multiple films and countless prime time television shows, while regularly working as a score notation consultant for Decca Records’ classical recordings provision.
As he did last year at The Globe, this evening Jamie will showcase his flawless solo nylon string guitar playing, featuring many new compositions from his upcoming solo album Cadence & Solemnity, plus some Great American Songbook classics performed with his unique blend of jazz virtuosity and classical technique.
The evening will also feature a special guest appearance in the second half.
