10 YEARS A CO-OP festival – Day 5: celebrating jazz and co-operation
30 April is International Jazz Day and the anniversary of when Jazz.Coop bought The Globe following a successful community share issue. We are delighted to welcome Clark Tracey back to The Globe for this special day. Clark has been a supporter of Jazz.Coop since the start and was the first national jazz star to perform at The Globe in 2014.
Clark Tracey, a well-established jazz master, recognised as a most inventive jazz drummer, composer, educator and bandleader, having appeared over 40 years in the company of some of the world’s jazz greats, was due to bring his new quintet to The Globe as part of a national tour. However due to unforeseen circumstances, Clark will now be bringing a brand new line up for the performance, featuring two of the hottest musicians from the younger generation and two established masters of the jazz scene.
Rory Ingham – Trombone
Nadim Teimoori – Saxes
Bruce Boardman – Piano
Andrew Cleyndert – Bass
Clark Tracey – Drums
This gig will be livestreamed so it can be enjoyed by people who are unable to attend at the venue. The livestream can be watched live, or at any time afterwards.
A five-time winner of Best Drummer in the British Jazz Awards, Clark Tracey has built a reputation since the early ‘80s as a talent spotter of future stars of the British jazz scene; Guy Barker, Alex Ridout, Daniel Casimir, Zoe Rahman and Mark Armstrong, to name a few. Clark was awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) in the 2019 Birthday Honours for services to music and the promotion of jazz.
AT THE GLOBE Unreserved seating. Names of ticket holders will be on the door. We do not send out physical tickets.
