LIVE MUSIC, GOOD BEER, GREAT VIBES
Community-owned and committed to music
The Globe is the first bar and music venue in the UK to be owned by a cooperative committed to music. Community ownership ensures that The Globe will continue to be a place where people can enjoy live music in a relaxed environment and where musicians can share and develop their skills.
Jazz.Coop
The Globe is owned by Pink Lane Jazz Co-op Ltd, trading as Jazz.Coop. It was bought in 2014 following a successful community share issue. Over 230 people have bought shares and become members of the cooperative, and more are welcome to join. To find out more about Jazz.Coop visit Jazz.Coop. If you would like to join the cooperative and help The Globe by investing in shares here is a direct link to the membership application form.
Hire the Globe
The Globe’s two venues are available to hire for gigs, events, meetings, private functions and parties.
Music promoters are welcome and we regularly host themed club nights with late licencing available.

Opportunities for volunteers
The Globe is such a welcoming place because it is owned by a community cooperative and run by staff and volunteers dedicated to making music.
You can help run the venue and the bar and pick up some useful skills along the way. Our volunteers may help behind the bar, set out the venue, welcome our guests or act as sound and lighting engineers. They also help maintain the building and equipment to a high standard and help promote our events and learning programmes.
As either a bar or front-of-house helper you get to see a wide variety of live acts for free. Or as someone involved in our ‘back room’ support functions you get the satisfaction of seeing the business moving forwards based on your own efforts and those of the wider Globe team.
All we are asking is a few hours a month of your time. You know what? You’ll make some new friends too!
If you would like get involved with voluntary work at The Globe please email volunteers@theglobenewcastle.bar.
