Data Privacy Statement
This Data Privacy Statement provides an explanation as to what happens to any personal data that you provide to us, or that we collect from you. As a data controller we comply with our obligations under the General Data Protection Regulations by keeping personal data up to date, be it: storing and destroying it securely; not collecting or retaining excessive amounts of data; protecting personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access and disclosure, and ensuring that appropriate technical measures are in place to protect personal data.
Who We Are
The Globe is owned and controlled by Jazz.Coop which is the trading name of Pink Lane Jazz Co-op Ltd, a registered society under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014, reg no 31981R.
Information We Collect
We collect very little personal data. We only keep data that is justified under the General Data Protection Regulation under the grounds of contract, legal obligation, legitimate interests or consent. We keep the following information about our members and supporters:
Members of Jazz.Coop: name, email address, postal address, telephone (optional), number of shares, date of purchase. We have a legal obligation to store this data and this is made clear on the membership application form.
Participants in workshops and courses: name, email address, telephone (optional), instruments played, experience of playing jazz, courses/workshops attended. Participants are asked to give their consent when they enrol.
Newsletter subscribers: name, email address. Subscribers give their consent when they subscribe.
Sharing Your Information
We do not share personal data with any other party unless legally required to do so.
Storing Your Information
Data that is provided to us is stored on our secure servers. We will process the information you provide in a manner compatible with the General Data Protection Regulation. We will endeavour to keep your information accurate and up to date, and not keep it for longer than is necessary. We are required to retain information in accordance with the law, such as information needed for tax and audit purposes. In some cases, there are legal requirements to keep data for a minimum period. Unless there is a specific legal requirement for us to keep the information, we will retain it for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which the data was collected or for which it is to be further processed.
