ACCESSIBILITY

We aim to provide a great time for everyone. Below are some things you may want to keep in mind if you require any further assistance when you arrive.

  • The Globe is an inclusive venue that welcomes everyone, including disabled customers and artists.
  • The Globe has step-free access throughout the whole building from the street, with a lift to the first floor and accessible toilet. A ramp on to the stage can be provided if required.
  • The Globe offers tickets for Personal Assistants at no additional cost for customers who require support to attend the venue. Please email howdy@theglobenewcastle.bar if you would like to arrange a PA ticket for an upcoming show.
  • We do not have a set viewing area, but if you have an access requirement please get in touch before your visit and we can reserve a space for you. Upon your arrival, a member of staff or volunteer will be there to assist to find a place for you to position yourself for the show.
  • We welcome any customers that may need to bring medication, food or drink, or medical equipment to manage a medical condition.
  • We also have ear plugs available behind the bars in the venue for those who need them – just ask a member of staff when you are here.
  • We welcome assistance dogs into the venue. If you plan on bringing one with you, please do let us know in advance.
  • Occasionally some of our events would use strobe lighting. Events using strobe lighting will have this warning in the description online and warning signs would be put up around the venue. If you have any concerns, please let us know.

Finding The Globe

We’re very close to Newcastle Arena. It’s about 10 minutes’ walk from Central Station. Buses no 22 and 32 stop by Newcastle Motorcycles (Honda) on Scotswood Road, a very short walk to the Globe. There’s often on-street free parking on Railway Street, if not there two commercial car parks nearby – the small Arena Car Park opposite (enter via Ord Street) and the fully accessibleTimes Square multi-storey on the right of Railway Street going east.

Please consider making a small donation to our community owned music venue.
