Glasgow based jazz-fusion group, C.A.L.I.E, has been sharing their music with audiences since 2022. They have performed at venues all over the country, including The Jazz Bar, The Blue Lamp, The Glad Café, The Rumshack, Traverse Theatre, Corner Room and more, most recently performing at the renowned Edinburgh Fringe in August 2024.
The band released their first single in 2023, entitled ‘Let Go’ – a track that is both heartfelt and heavy hitting, in one. Having recently finished the production of their first album, C.A.L.I.E is on the move and is preparing for their first UK tour this April.
C.A.L.I.E’s sound epitomizes the word ‘eclectic.’ Band leader, Josie Girgis, loves taking deep dives into genres such as trad, metal, prog, funk and jazz (of course!) and her music reflects this. C.A.L.I.E’s music is ambitious in nature… born from Josie’s motto: Why waste an opportunity to be creative?
Line Up:
Bandleader/Alto Saxophone – Josie Girgis (C.A.L.I.E, Marianne McGregor Quintet, James Brown is Annie, The Tomorrow Band etc.)
Tenor Saxophone – Jimmy Steele (C.A.L.I.E, The Vintage Explosion, etc.)
Guitar – Samuel Parkinson (C.A.L.I.E, Nimbus Sextet, etc.)
