This 10-week course is for beginner/intermediate acoustic guitar, mandolin, 5-string banjo and double bass players.
Ever wanted to play in a bluegrass band? Musician Tom Cronin will take you through classic songs and instrumentals from the bluegrass repertoire. The style will be covered from its birth with Bill Monroe and his Bluegrass Boys to modern day.
About the tutor Tom Cronin is a professional musician with wide experience of folk, blues, bluegrass and rock. He teaches guitar and mandolin one-to-one and in groups including at the prestigious Music Education Centre, Sage Gateshead (UK).
Prices
The course fee is £120 for a 10-session term. You may also pay £15 per session (minimum payment £30).
We can offer greatly reduced fees – just £20 for the term – to certain people thanks to a grant from the Community Foundation.
