Description

NEWS – 21/01/21: Three members of the band are self-isolating. Rob Heron and Tom Cronin will perform as a duo.

Rob Heron & The Tea Pad Orchestra don’t care what genre you choose to put them in – western swing, country blues, ragtime hokum or whatever else– as long as you understand that they’re 100% sincere and 100% immersed in this stuff. This is no lazy pastiche, no dressing up box. They live and breathe this music and want you to get immersed with them.

The Tea Pad are seven years into a remarkable story that began with four friends studying at Newcastle University and now sees them playing venues and festivals across the UK and mainland Europe. Based in Newcastle Upon Tyne but with members hailing from Orkney to Warwickshire, the Tea Pad sound draws on myriad influences – from Bob Wills to Django Reinhardt, George Jones to Tom Waits – yet ultimately sounds like nobody else, that North Eastern Swing style that’s utterly their own and changing all the time.

TO VIEW THE LIVESTREAM

Buy a ticket and you will be sent an email containing a link to download a pdf file with information on how to view the livestream. You can also download the pdf file by clicking ‘Return to Merchant’ immediately after you have paid. You can watch the gig live and at any time during the following week.
Please note that you should receive two emails when you complete your order: one from PayPal and one from this website. It is the one from The Globe that has the link you need. If you don’t see our email please check your spam/junk folder. If there is nothing there please email events@theglobenewcastle.bar or send a message to our Facebook page .
A livestream ticket costs £7.50. You may like to pay more if you are feeling generous or if there is more than one person watching.  This would be really welcome at this difficult time when income for musicians and venues is drastically reduced.

AT THE GLOBE
There are a limited number of tickets available for people to be at the gig in the venue. These must be bought in advance. No tickets will be available on the door. Ticket holders will be allocated a table according to the number of people in their group. After you buy tickets you will be sent an email containing a link to download a pdf file with information about our procedures to reduce the risk of spreading infection. This will confirm that you are on the guest list.

We are making every effort to ensure that customers feel welcome, comfortable and safe. We are providing table service and only accepting contactless payments. There are guidelines that will be explained when you arrive. Doors open at 45 minutes before the scheduled start time and you need to be seated by 15 minutes before the start.

Please note that local regulations only permit people from the same household to share a table. This information was correct when this event was first listed. Please be aware that local regulations can change at short notice.
