With two critically acclaimed albums and countless nights on the road behind them, the Newcastle-based instrumental powerhouse have rightly earned a reputation for being one of the most exciting acts on the European folk circuit.
This concert features four of the Pons Aelius sextet, still a force to be reckoned with, driven by the of bagpipes and whistle of Jordan Aikin, the tenor banjo and mandolin of Tom Kimber, Alasdair Paul on guitar and Bevan Morris on double bass. With these powerful tools at their disposal, they are masters of both subtlety and intensity, exploring the limits of these acoustic instruments to produce a formidable sound.
