This month’s Play Jazz workshop will focus on minor key harmony. With specific reference to the Rogers and Hart tune ‘My Funny Valentine’, we will explore the harmonic and melodic considerations of tackling tunes in minor keys: scales, chord construction and improvisation. The workshop will take the usual form of a practical, performance-based approach, with lots of opportunities to explore ideas in a relaxed non-threatening environment, with the aim of providing students with a clearer understanding of all things minor!
With top quality Jazz guitarist Steve Glendinning.
