You’ll probably remember “Our Man In The Field” here recently as a duo, supporting The Delines
Think of Our Man In The Field – aka Alex Ellis – as an independent correspondent with his works dispatches from his travels. So classically crafted are Ellis’ songs that you could be forgiven for thinking you have heard Our Man In The Field somewhere before. With his band including pedal steel they take inspiration from the alt-Americana and Caledonian soul stylings of Van Morrison, Neil Young, Credence Clearwater Revival, Ryan Adams and Wilco. His own sound is indefinable yet familiar- its introspective, intimate and deeply soulful style standing comfortably alongside modern-day artists Ray La Montagne, Damien Rice and Foy Vance. However, his songs often have a north east slant to them.
Matt Dunbar & his self – penned laid back Americana & easy driving Autonomous Collective band are the perfect accompliment to an evening of unique & outstanding Alt Country music.
