Milne Glendinning Band has a growing reputation as a great live trio with distinctive original songs, rooted in jazz , but with diverse musical influences. Over spring and summer 2023 MGB has played at venues and festivals across the north of England, including Durham Fringe and Whitley Bay Festivals, and they are regulars at venues such as Zefferelli’s in Ambleside Cumbria, The Vault in Darlington and Prohibition Cabaret Bar in Newcastle. MGB’s Globe gig will feature their original compositions, mixed with an eclectic selection of jazz standards.
Line up: Debra Milne – vocals; Stephen Glendinning – guitar; Michael Clark – bass.
“Fronted by Debra Milne – with Stephen Glendinning on guitar and Michael Clark on bass – this local outfit’s natural habitat is the back room of the world’s coolest jazz café. Milne’s voice instantly commands your attention and she is given dextrous backing by the two fellas behind her… The four tracks on this EP are a melodic delight … ” The Crack Magazine
“….the words are appropriate and, occasionally, comparable with the great contemporary lyricists such as Cohen, Waits, Mitchell…” award winning jazz blog Bebop Spoken Here
