Andrea Vicari and her North East trio are touring Newcastle and surrounding areas this May. Jazz pianist Andrea Vicari will be joined by Andy Champion on bass and Abbie Finn on drums. They will be playing a mixture of Andrea’s compositions and rearranged standards with contemporary grooves as well as swing jazz.
Andrea Vicari is a pianist, composer and educator and has played at leading venues in the UK including Ronnie Scott’s jazz club (featured band for the 2017 jazz piano trio festival) as well as performing across the globe, most recently in Croatia and China. In addition to her own projects Andrea has performed with many jazz greats including Eddie Harris and Art Farmer. Andrea recently recorded ‘21st century woman’ which was launched on International women’s day 2019 and was a first for a recording played and recorded exclusively by women. In addition to performing Andrea is a senior jazz professor at Trinity Laban on the jazz course and musical director of the Dordogne Jazz summer school now in it’s 21st year.
