Multi-instrumentalist Fiona Lander (vocals, piano, whistles, clarinet, recorder, saxophones) and Paul Mason (guitars, ukulele and vocals) present a fabulous and varied show which combines both traditional and contemporary folk with jazz, blues, classical and other styles. Their own self-penned material interspersed with lively jigs and striking arrangements of traditional classics provide a lovely contrast for any audience. Prepare to be energised, uplifted, soothed, entertained and challenged all in one evening!
Landermason have been writing and recording for over twenty years. They have performed at many of the UK’s best loved venues, toured in France, Germany and the Netherlands and have enjoyed airplay on BBC Radio 2, 3, 4, Scotland, Wales and the BBC World Service.
They recently released their 7th studio album, ‘Landermason with Dark Sky Voices’- a unique collection of songs with a strong choral element featuring Fiona’s Tynedale-based choir. Arrangements were taught on Zoom then rehearsed outside at a cricket club in Hexham! Other Lockdown projects have included the creation of several hand-built ukuleles and the making of numerous videos including their ‘Lockdown Blues’, which was aired on Sky News!
“Musically excellent, showing off technical ability but also adding heart and soul into their songs.” – Edinburgh Fringe
“Great music, old songs and new songs, the familiar and the untried, it’s what music should be about” – Neil King – Bournemouth Folk Club
