There is nothing contrived or artificial about Julie Grant. Every song is an uplifting melody laced with a melancholic cocktail of life experience. At times the fragility of the vocals are heartbreaking.
She has performed on television as well as recorded several live sessions for BBC radio.
Don’t let those dulcet tones misguide you. Underneath that sweet voice lies some very powerful lyrics.
She has just received 4 Music Award Nominations for 2020:
Female Artist of the Year
Song of the Year
Album of the Year
Artist of the Year
The band line up alongside Julie is an acoustic trio featuring Peter Collard (guitar), Kevin Hodge (percussion) and Ritchie Murray (bass). Each song has a strong refrain with inspirational lyrics (as always) and three-part vocal harmonies. An EP is due to be recorded in early 2021.
Apart from being a singer and musician, Julie is also a freelance writer.
