Charlotte Forman is a full-time singer songwriter who performs covers and originals around the North-East and has performed in various places around the North-West and south as well. Her style consists of pop, soul, swing/jazz and she has been releasing music these past few years with support from BBC Introducing and the North East’s leading music magazine. Charlotte loves to make people laugh as well as wow them with her powerful vocals. Charlotte gets better each time she sings live and has a good following of fans that see her regularly.
Charlotte is inspired by artists like Adele, Ed Sheeran, Aretha Franklin and Dusty Springfield and that really reflects in her writing ability. She says: “Writing about personal feelings inspires my music – anything that I can connect to personally whether it be through myself or someone I know – my lyrics reflect how emotional I want a song to feel. I’ve always wanted to touch the listener’s soul and capture something special in telling a story that my audience can connect to. Even when I perform my cover songs I will always connect with them on a personal level as if they’re my own stories that I am telling.”
Charlotte is 30 years old and lives in County Durham. She’s originally from Essex but moved up north in 2017. Charlotte grew up with music around her. Charlotte’s mum would be blasting Shirley Bassey and Madonna through the stereo whilst she was cleaning the house and then charlotte started to learn guitar and wrote her first song at the age of 15. Charlotte went and studied at popular music at Southampton Solent and realised how much she loved writing music! Releasing her first ep in 2016 called Soul Destination, available on Bandcamp.
