This 5-week online course is a chance for guitarists who know a few simple chords to expand their technique by taking an in-depth look at folk and blues fingerstyle with musician Tom Cronin.
Participants will be guided through a repertoire of songs and instrumentals, focusing on techniques such as Travis picking through the playing of early roots and blues musicians; Elizabeth Cotten and Mississippi John Hurt; folk revivalists, Davy Graham and Donovan and modern day artists such as Jake Xerxes Fussell and Shakey Graves.
Notation and tab will be provided for each piece along with audio downloads. The course will be run via Zoom with all participants muted, allowing them to play along with the tutor. Participants will also be able to unmute at appropriate times to ask questions to help with their development.
